Sunday marked the first farmer's market of the season, South Pearl Street! It never ceases to amaze me the scale of the South Pearl Farmers Market. Every Sunday from May until November, South Pearl Street is buzzing with energy; stretching several city blocks, the streets are filled with dozens of local, unique artisan vendors for the community to shop and support. If it wasn’t made clear, the market is my happy place... HobNob does an incredible job at organizing this massive event and we are so grateful to be involved for our second season!
It was great to be back, among so many of my favorite makers, and talking with customers again. Even after 7 years in markets I still get a little nervous on the first day of the season.
Being in front of customers again allows me to vocalize the goals I have made for Boozy Botanist this year; this time brainstorming and exercising new ideas with guests is probably the thing I missed the most in the off-season. Last year, I focused on the presentation of The Boozy Botanist product line. Slimming down on the types of products I made and celebrating our niche- the beverage accessories that we all call Bitters & Potions. Modifying our packaging has allowed us to create in much larger batches. Getting our labels professionally designed and printed has been super beneficial to scaling our brand and helping me deliver an experience to our customers.
And as for this year, I want to grow Boozy Botanist’s online presence, with our fancy, new website! Providing online shoppers with an experience that resembles what you would receive if you were to meet me at the market.
I have set a goal to write a weekly email to our subscribers and to begin utilizing Linkedin, to report on our journey. Celebrate Boozy Botanist’s growth through the season and begin incorporating other entrepreneurs into the conversation.
Adding a few more retail locations (6 is the goal, putting us at a confident 10 by Christmas). While continuing to stock the shelves of our favorite and most supporting stores, Terra Apothecary, Bottle Shop 33, Bjorns, Apothecary Tinctura.
Getting our sugar cubes into an adorable box! (I am the most excited about this one). And putting our product in curated beverage kits for customers to purchase, complete with a recipe card.
BIG thanks to everyone that is reading these emails and coming out to the markets to support us, I couldn’t do it without all of you. Thankful for warmer weather and this vendor community.
Thanks for tuning in,
Katie Green
